Creating Confident Communicators

Empowering Kids Through Communication, Right at Home.

At Woods Speech Language Pediatrics, we believe every child deserves a voice. Specializing in home-based speech therapy, we bring personalized care to your doorstep, creating a comfortable and familiar environment for your child to thrive. Whether it’s enhancing speech sound production, developing smooth and confident speech, or exploring new ways to communicate through AAC, we’re here to support your child’s unique journey. Let’s work together to unlock their full potential.

Areas of Treatment

At Woods Speech Language Pediatrics, we provide individualized care across a variety of speech and language needs. Below are some of the areas we specialize in, though therapy is always tailored to your child’s unique strengths and challenges. If you have questions about your child’s specific needs or are unsure if speech therapy is the right fit, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Speech Sound Disorders

Helping children improve how they produce speech sounds and patterns, making their communication clearer and easier to understand. Whether it’s working on the articulation of specific sounds (like /r/ and /s/) or addressing phonological process errors (e.g. sound substitutions or omissions), we tailor our approach to your child’s developmental needs.

Fluency (Stuttering)

Supporting children who experience interruptions in the flow of their speech. Through strategies and confidence-building, we help your child communicate with ease and comfort in any situation.

Social Communication (Pragmatic Language)

Supporting children in developing effective communication in social situations. This includes understanding and using nonverbal cues (like body language and facial expressions), initiating and maintaining conversations, and practicing social problem-solving in peer interactions.

AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication)

Empowering non-speaking or minimally verbal children with tools like communication devices and/or picture systems, to express themselves fully and connect with others.

Early Language Development

Encouraging foundational language skills, such as vocabulary growth, combining words, and following directions, to support young learners in expressing themselves. Parent coaching is integrated to provide strategies and tools families can use at home to foster language development and maximize progress.

Expressive and Receptive Language

Building skills for understanding and using language effectively. This includes improving vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure, as well as comprehension of questions, directions, and stories.
